Country Farmhouse
Newcastle, Co. Wicklow

Refurbishment of a protected structure
Extensions, alterations and refurbishment of a semi derelict substantial farmhouse and associated outbuildings and stables to bring them up to modern standards. With gardens, landscaping, show jumping arena, rerouted streams and drains and general upgrade of perimeter fencing. The farm extends to 32 acres, and is located outside Newcastle, County Wicklow. The original house dates from approximately 1780 and had been extended and altered on a number of occasions subsequently. The proposal is to refurbish and repair the farm buildings, farm curtilage and general condition, provide a independent new guest accommodation and to reverse the incompatible add ons to the main house, provide a sympathetic extension and modify the landscaping both adjacent to the house and around the farm generally to reinstate hedgerows etc such that the farm is both highly usable and in synchronicity with best practice and the surrounding rural situation.
